Complex line systems by ASA Automation
This interlinked line for unmanned production and assembly of brake pistons for passenger car brake disc calipers meets basic requirements such as a certain high throughput, high process reliability and an excellent quality level. The system was designed for different piston variants and generations of products for front as well as rear axles. This handling system consists of 18 robots, some of which perform the handling tasks and others that perform the process functions.
Carryline meets high requirements for conveyor systems
Cycle times of only a few seconds are characteristic for systems of this kind, however they are highly dependent on the respective variant, which places high demands on the integrated conveyor system Carryline. The sensors integrated in the system take on a significant functional share. Image processing is a component of every essential station within the assembly plant. In the product ramp-up phase, manual, partially automated assembly workplaces were also developed and produced for the manufacture of brake pistons. They served to solidify the quality-relevant processes at the manual assembly workplaces. In addition to the press-fitting and joining process, ergonomics and work safety played a decisive role.
