ASA goes Chile

The company has now founded a subsidiary there in order to be able to provide optimal services to its Chilean customers and better equip itself for dealing with South-American markets.

Back in 2005, ASA had its initial contact with a Chilean customer at a trade show.  A well-known, multinational, company from the food-processing industry was looking for a system for packaging several of its products.  ASA developed a robotized automation system for that task, was promptly rewarded with a purchase order, and thus came to install its first packaging system in South America.

Meanwhile, ASA is working on its fourth major project in Chile and has acquired two other customers from the country’s food-processing industry.  Purchase orders from Argentina followed.  As the number of installed systems grew, it was clear that the demand for replacement parts, servicing, and maintenance would also increase.

ASA Automation SpA, with headquarters in Santiago de Chile, was thus founded in 2016.  Effective immediately, the subsidiary will be providing 24-hour support, seven days per week, for its equipment in the country, along with pursuit of the longer-term objective of generating new business there.  ASA began looking for employees it could train in Germany and then station in Chile as soon as the subsidiary had been founded.
